Tents offer the best way of sleeping outdoors and can offer a huge amount of outdoor fun. As well as the different types of tent there are also different designs such as dome and tunnel or the family style tents which are very large and can sleep allot of people with several rooms. And also look out for the different features that can be very useful such as a porch, groundsheets and even the type of poles as these can all have an impact on how you use the tent.
Another important aspect of a tent is hoe many people it can accommodate; most small tents can hold 2, 3 or 4 people but there are also large tents that can sleep 6, 8 or even 10 people and so be sure to buy a tent of the correct size.
You also need to make sure that you use your tent correctly. If you buy a new tent be sure to pitch it in your garden before your holiday so that you are comfortable with how it works as there is nothing worse than having to rush when you arrive at your camping location and not knowing how to put the tent up. Also be sure to clear the ground that you are pitching on and try to shade the tent using trees or bushes that are nearby as this will shop some of the sun and wind from hitting the tent. And be sure to dry your tent properly before you pack it away and it also helps to clean it when you get home on a nice day so that you can lave it up for a while in the garden so that it can dry properly.
