Canopy Tents

A popular feature of many tents is a canopy and this is a small shelter that goes over the door of the tent and so can offer some cover even for things that are not in the tent.

The canopies vary with tents and so if this is an important feature for you then you need to look at how large it is. Some cheap tents have a very small canopy which is basically just the door of the tent held up with poles but this can offer a nice although small amount of cover. This is good if you are short of space in the tent in the day time and it is raining as you can simply place a few hardy items outside of the tent and under the canopy.

Some other tents offer a large canopy though which offers a very good amount of cover; enough for several people to sit under for example. This is excellent for cover from the sun as you are still sat outside and they can also be good for cover from light rain although this has problems with the wind and so is not something you will want to do often.

You can even buy separate canopies for some tents that you attach to the tent as and when you need it and these offer much more cover and are like an extension for your tent. You have to make sure that they will fit onto your tent though and it is also wise to look at the colours so that they will look good with your tent.
