Camping is a great family activity with camping offering the kind of fun and adventure that kids love but you have to be sure to buy the right kind of tent for family camping.
A family tent needs to be spacious and large with lots of room for all of the items you are likely to need on your holiday. Family tents are designed to be large and spacious with lots offering more than one room and large living areas. They are not designed for carrying long distances as the weight is not given much attention as it is assumed that you will take the tent in the car for most of the journey and so if you are going to need to carry the tent for a large distance then pay attention to the weight of the tent as this can vary allot.
There are a few different types of family tent that you can buy with the dome and tunnel tents being very popular to to the fact they are very easy to put up and are also very sturdy. They are often smaller though with less head room; most dome and tunnel tents have 1 or 2 sleeping rooms with a small living area. The large family tents however can be much better with much more space and more rooms although they are generally harder to put up and not as sturdy when they are up.
Most family tents will have a good quality groundsheet in the sleeping rooms but you will want to get some air beds or sleeping mats for extra comfort and good quality sleeping bags are also very much recommended.
